PHP Developer

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced PHP Developer to join our team and work directly with our international clients. You'll be building and maintaining web applications using WordPress and Laravel, with a focus on delivering high-quality, client-facing solutions.

This is a part-time position ideal for developers who want flexibility while working on meaningful projects with direct client interaction.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins
  • Build and enhance Laravel-based web applications
  • Collaborate directly with clients to understand requirements and provide solutions
  • Implement responsive designs using modern CSS and JavaScript
  • Optimize website performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full stack
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional PHP development experience
  • Strong proficiency in WordPress development (themes, plugins, custom post types, ACF)
  • Solid experience with Laravel framework (routing, Eloquent, Blade, migrations)
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript (vanilla JS, jQuery, and modern ES6+)
  • Proficiency in CSS/SCSS and responsive design principles
  • Experience with MySQL/MariaDB databases
  • Familiarity with Git version control
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) - you'll work directly with clients
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage client expectations

Nice to Have

  • Experience with WooCommerce development
  • Knowledge of headless WordPress / REST API
  • Familiarity with Vue.js
  • Experience with Tailwind CSS
  • Understanding of SEO best practices
  • Experience with deployment and hosting (cPanel, SSH, CI/CD)
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques
